            This monastery, mentioned in Joh. Eph., EH 1.15 as a place of imprisonment for miaphysite clerics, is probably identical with the monastery founded by Abraham, future archbishop of Ephesus, in the first half of the sixth century. It was located in Constantinople just outside the Theodosian walls at the Golden Gate.
