Dvin - ܕܐܘܝܢ

Founded in the 4th century, Dvin was the capital of Armenia. After the loss of the Armenian independence and the partition of the region between Rome and the Sasanian Empire, Dvin became the residence of the Sasanian governor of Persarmenia. Joh. Eph., EH 2.18-22, deals with the Sasanian persecution of the Armenian Christians that took place there in the early 570s.1
