Euphemia of Chalcedon (church) - ܛܘܒܢܝܬܐ ܐܘܦܡܝܐ

Having suffered martyrdom in the Galerian persecution around 303, Euphemia was venerated as saint. A church was constructed above her tomb in Chalcedon within some decades of her death. The council of Chalcedon took place in this church in 451 and it was eventually destroyed during the Persian siege of 626. Joh. Eph., EH 1.41, notes that Paul the Jew, patriarch of Antioch 519-521, had been presbyter at this church.4
