In Syriac miaphysite hagiography,
Severus of
Antioch is commemorated as a Patriarch of Antioch who wrote many
treatises and homilies defending miaphysite non-Chalcedonian Christology. He
attended meetings of Justinian to reconcile Chalcedonians and their opponents. He
also was the leader of a large group of Miaphysite monks. He wrote in Greek,
but his works were preserved in Syriac.
