“Joh. Eph., EH 4.6-7, recounts how the miaphysite Julian was dispatched by Theodora to convert the people of the Nobades in Nubia. This took place in the late 530s or 540s. He returned after two years and died a short time before Theodosius of Alexandria in 566.” 2
