“ܩܪܝܬܳܐ ܗܝ ܕܒܩܘܪܒܳܐ ܕܐܘܪܗܳܝ ܘܩܰܕܡܳܝܐ ܕܬܰܚܡܗ̇ ܥܰܒܕ ܐܠܡܰܠܟ ܒܰܪ ܨܰܐܠܚ ܐܰܠܗܰܐܫܡܝ. ܟ݂ܰܐܠܕܝ ܕܶܝܢ ܐܶܡܪ ܒܩܘܪܒܐ ܕܪܰܩܗ̇ ܐܝܬ ܠܘܳܬܗ̇ ܒܰܛܝܐܣ ܘܕܰܝܪܳܐ ܕܡܳܪܝ ܙܰܟܰܝ ܩܰܕܡܳܝܐ ܕܫܰܟܠܠ ܩܨܪ̈ܝܗ̇ ܡܗܕܝ” 1
“قرية قرب الرها اختطها عبد الملك بن صالح الهاشمي، وقال الخالدي قرب الرقة عندها بطياس ودير مار زكى؛ اول من احدث قصورها المهدي.” 2
“a village near Edessa, established by ʿAbd al-Mālik Ibn Ṣāliḥ al-Hāshimi. Al-Khālidi states that it was near al-Raqqa, near Batyas and the Monastery of Mar Zakka. The first person to build palaces there was the Abbasid Caliph al-Mahdi.” 3

In Dolabani's translation of Barsoum's description “ܕܪܰܩܗ̇” should read “ܕܪܰܩܗ̈” .
